Our 2018 Carter G. Leadership Lecture Series

All of the events in our Carter G. Leadership Lecture series are FREE and open to the entire public. All events occur at Green Run High School in Virginia Beach. These events are designed to help BUILD leadership in Hampton Roads' males in the 6th - 12th grades. Our events are produced by Green Run's GMAC program, the Golden Fold Mentorship Program of the Virginia Beach chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Virginia Beach City Schools office of Opportunity and Achievement, and the Hampton Roads Committee of 200+ Men.

Our February event entitled Lessons from history, which connects with Black History Month, hosts three captivating speakers who will illustrate lessons learned from their personal lives and the history that has impacted their lives. Our speakers include Panama born Robert Jamison who discusses struggles experienced in his country, life in America, and his personal struggles to achieve success. Robert's message is followed by Rev. Fred Showers, whose life was impacted by America's Civil Right Struggle and a calling to serve people. Our final speaker is Dr. Maurice Carter from Longwood University's Call Me Mister program which helps minority males to become educational leaders.
