Less about race, more about posturing. The growing Poly-Ethnic Society

Photo: Steve Stout
The millennium youth are growing up in a society that is becoming less concerned about racial identity. Between 1 -7 marriages are mixed-marriages while Black women are now less likely to become or remain married. Children are growing in a poly-ethnic environment.

As parents, elders, and mentors we might consider this paradigm shift as we continue to guide our children.  How has hip-hop influenced mainstream pop culture? Hear how former music executive Steve Stoute, became the CEO of ad agency Translation, and, how he broke down cultural boundaries by bringing the untapped resource of hip-hop into the world of marketing.

Why Males Need Initiation - Friar Richard Rohr

The Golden Fold Movement is conceptually based upon traditional African and Native American Rites of Passage Processes in a contemporary delivery model......

In "Why Males Need Initiation," Friar Richard Rohr shows how from his Christian perspective primal societies have demonstrated that cultural survival is dependent on personal spirituality. Unfortunately, the proven way to lead males on this journey has been lost to the West for a thousand years. Fr. Richard addresses the reality that if men are not led through an inner journey of powerlessness, they will inevitably misunderstand and abuse power.

Shirt & Tie Session (Our last 2012 -2013 Session until October 2013)

Breathe Success !
This Saturday (06/22/13) is our Shirt and Tie Session. During this session we will have two special guests, a year in review presentation by brother Seko, and we will be distributing gifts and certificates to our Golden Members and program staff.

Our High School Young Leaders will receive certificates that state that they have provided 38 hours of community service to the Golden Fold as they have been Junior mentors to our Middle School Young Leaders. Our session will end with a group photo including program staff, parents, and Young Leaders. Young Leaders should dress in a white shirt, dark pants, and wear a long or bow tie for this special session.

Parents should plan to attend this session with your Young leader as well. Since the parents will appear in photos, parents should dress with that understanding.

See you then !
