Shirt & Tie Session (Our last 2012 -2013 Session until October 2013)

Breathe Success !

This Saturday (06/22/13) is our Shirt and Tie Session. During this session we will have two special guests, a year in review presentation by brother Seko, and we will be distributing gifts and certificates to our Golden Members and program staff.

Our High School Young Leaders will receive certificates that state that they have provided 38 hours of community service to the Golden Fold as they have been Junior mentors to our Middle School Young Leaders. Our session will end with a group photo including program staff, parents, and Young Leaders. Young Leaders should dress in a white shirt, dark pants, and wear a long or bow tie for this special session.

Parents should plan to attend this session with your Young leader as well. Since the parents will appear in photos, parents should dress with that understanding.

6/8/13 Tomorrow is game day ! Bring your video games and your game consoles with you tomorrow.... We're bringing the televisions ! We're gonna have a ball ! Our session begins with a breakfast provided by Brother Kinji, includes a lil' Birthday cake for a Young Leader who turns 13 years old, might involve some pizza (If Bro' Seko does his thing), but definetly will be a fun-chill out session. 1st thangs' 1st. Brother Kinji Ridley and his Wifey' are expecting sometime this week. He may be a little MIA after the newborn arrives/returns ! Keep him in your prayers, meditations, libations, and well wishes !

Newness alert !
We have entered discussions with Black Belt Sensi Washington to provide specialized  'Fighting / Self Defense/ Martial Arts / Boxing" guidance to our Young Leaders. We do not have a start date as of today. But.........He teaches a FREE class (Youth and Adult) each Tuesday and Thursday at the Boys and Girls Club from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Two of our Young Leaders are current students in the program. ALL are encouraged to participate. For more info' visit his website:

6/9/13 Sunday - Leadership Sunday. Our Young Leaders will attend the 10:45 am church service with our Leadership Guru Dr. Shawn who was recently installed as the new pastor at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church (2201 Wingfield Avenue, Chesapeake). After service they will take a photo with Young Leader BV who becomes 13 on that day.

6/22/13 Saturday - Our last session for the Calendar year. (We will continue during the summer with more fun-oriented activities).

6/23/13 Sunday Dr. Shawn is installed at his new church. He has invited all to be a part of his installation. Details below.
