Relaunch - The Virginia Branch of The Golden Fold Mentor Movement will have it's kickoff on Tuesday 9/27/2016

The Golden Fold Mentor Movement will have it's kickoff on Tuesday 9/27/2016 @7:00pm at Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, During this event parents and young males will learn about the program and receive an application to enroll in the program. The Golden Fold Mentor Movement is a mentorship program serving young males and fathers. We serve 6th - 12th grade youth by providing Leadership and S.T.E.M. activities in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Our Lamplight Concepts

Our Lamplight concepts are Sound Adulthood (Responsibility, leadership, and being morally based), Scholarship (Financial savvy, Political awareness, and being coachable), Endurance (being unwavering, becoming and remaining self motivated), and Uplift (increasing one’s physical, mental, and spiritual strength while improving one’s self, family, and community).

Our Lamplight icons are Dr. Ernest Everett Just – Omega Psi Phi (Sound Adulthood), Arturo Schomberg – Kappa Alpha Psi (Scholarship), Thurgood Marshall (Endurance), and Dr. Martin Luther King – Alpha Phi Alpha (Uplift). Our former icon, Dr. Cosby, has been respectfully replaced due to recent controversy.
